Irides Announces Conversion to CO2 Emission Free Data Center

Today Irides announced the conversion of their Arlington, VA Data Center to renewable energy. 100% of the power required to operate and cool the servers in Irides Arlington, VA data center will now be supplied by carbon-emission free power generation. This investment will eliminate approximately 1,000 metric tons per year of CO2 emissions associated with power and cooling.
Carbon emissions and environmental issues in general are of great concern to individuals and businesses alike. We all want to do "the right thing" but are concerned that new costs - and taxes - will be levied at a time of economic uncertainty. Knowing this we approached the greening of our business with some trepidation. However we quickly discovered that controlling our carbon emissions makes good business sense overall.
The process of converting our data center to renewable energy changed how we view our business. It also opened up new opportunities and offered new ways to reduce costs. So much so in fact that we were able to eliminate our CO2 emissions without any cost increase for our customers.
A realistic and effective green policy can strongly influence consumer buying decisions, helping build loyalty in existing customers and attracting new ones.
